How We Help
PROINFANCIA uses a holistic approach to meeting the needs of children. Through referrals to a network of public and private service providers, children and families receive comprehensive services that address their health, social, emotional, spiritual and financial needs. Services include:
- primary health care
- HIV testing and antiretrovirals
- psychosocial support
- dental care
- life skills education
- birth registration

PROINFANCIA also implements a small-scale sponsorship program called "Food for Lïfe". This program allows the most vulnerable children (those who are HIV+, orphans, living in extreme poverty, and being cared by an older relative) to receive food and nutritional supplements every month. Some medicines are also provided as necessary.
PROINFANCIA also strengthens the capacity of families to take care of their children by teaching parenting skills and providing caretakers with small loans for income generating activities.
PROINFANCIA mobilizes communities to provide care and support to those most at risk. Community volunteers, mainly from faith-based organizations, provide home-based care, emotional and spiritual support, and monitor the children's well-being.
